Jessy Garcia is vice president of media marketing at Universal Pictures. In this capacity, she
develops innovative media strategies and tactics that have boosted numerous Universal films
to box-office success. These include recent box office releases; Jurassic World Dominion which
confirmed audiences love affair with the franchise and pulled in over $140 million opening
weekend and recent box office success Minions: The Rise of Gru which this summer pulled a
$124 million domestic opening. Prior to her role as VP, Media she held the position of
Director of Multicultural Media for Universal Pictures, spearheading multicultural media
strategy for dozens of past Universal films including family films Croods: A New Age, Spirit
Untamed, Trolls World Tour, action blockbusters Fast 9, Hobbs & Shaw, and Skyscraper, horror
box office successes like Candyman, Jordan Peeleās US, and Get Out, and comedies like Little,
Good Boys and Blockers.
In addition to her work in marketing, Garcia has been a consistent champion of
underrepresented voices in the entertainment industry, having participated in various
employee led DEI efforts throughout the Universal Film Group organization, spearheading
mentorship, and development programs for her Universal colleagues.
A graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, Garcia resides with her spouse and
two kids in Glendale, California.
