Fran Gaitanaros

As head of Creative, Fran guides the Birchbox brand value proposition through every customer touchpoint. She oversees all visual design elements as well as tone and voice – from pattern creation, monthly box designs and in-store signage, to email communication, site design, video content and photography – to create a cohesive and evolved look, feel and voice for the Birchbox brand. She is passionate about deepening the emotional relationship with customers, using strategic storytelling across all creative channels to make beauty relatable to the average (non-beauty-obsessed!) woman who wants an easy, non-intimidating way to discover great and relevant products. Prior to joining Birchbox in January 2016, Fran served as Design Director at One Kings Lane. Earlier in her career she co-founded The Next Big Small Brand and The Rooster Design Group, where she served as creative director for a combined 17 years with a focus on the arts, culture and real estate. Fran lives in Brooklyn with her husband and son, and spends her down time surfing in Montauk.
