Kraft Singles, Apple Pie Team Up for 4th of July

Few things are more American than apple pie, and there are few things American love more than cheese. In honor of these truisms, Kraft Singles is encouraging the combination of the two for an Independence Day promotion.

The brand is partnering with Little Pie Company in New York City to offer single-serve apple pies topped with Kraft Singles cheese, creating a sweet and salty combination. The pies will be sold in-store for $10.95 each. For those who are not in the Big Apple, the brands have partnered with Goldbelly to offer nationwide delivery of pies and Kraft Singles, along with cooking instructions for $44.95.

Apple pie and cheese? Apparently, they are two great tastes that go great together. “The trend of melting cheese on top of apple pie has long been a tradition and is more well-known than people think,” said Kelsey Rice, associate director for Kraft Singles at the Kraft Heinz Company. “In fact, apple pie has been served with a cheese topping since the 1800s as a sweet and salty treat.”

Regardless of whether consumers have heard of it or not, Rice is certain the promotion will resonate with consumers. “While consumers may not have heard about this baking trend, they have heard about both Kraft Singles and apple pie,” she said. “As we gear up for the Fourth of July holiday, we wanted to bring these two flavors together to remind people that nothing melds like Kraft Singles and that our iconic yellow square helps elevate the enjoyment of whatever food you are eating.”

Indeed, the promotion is part of the brand’s “Square It” platform, which is designed to remind consumers about the versatility of Kraft Singles (like combining them with apple pie). “We wanted to inspire new ways to enjoy our product beyond the typical cheeseburger on a grill,” Rice said. “We want this to resonate with those who may lose sight of the simple things that make us happy and want to remind those to say yes to the things they love.”
