Cash App Intros ‘Pink Drop’ Clothing Line

Cash by Cash App, the in-house fashion brand of payment transfer company is launching a new collection, the Pink Drop, featuring limited edition items designed for the brand by celebrity designer Marshall Columbia.

The Pink Drop launches on September 7, just in time for New York Fashion Week. The line includes the designer’s signature puffy handbag in a limited-edition color, as well as new designs such as a plush wallet, a skirt, hoodies, cargo pants and a skateboard deck.

Along with the fashion line, Cash App is launching a special-edition Pink Cash App Card, which consumers can customize with Marshall Columbia-designed stamps of butterflies, snails, flowers, stars, hearts and ladybugs. According to the company, Cash App’s commitment to merging finance with fashion is similar to Columba’s overall ethos.

“Our Cash by Cash App drops have become highly anticipated moments for our customers, and we’re excited Marshall was able to lend his vision to this one,” said Liang Shi, Cash by Cash App lead, in a statement. “Your debit card doesn’t have to be fully utilitarian and can be an extension of your style – a concept we worked hand-in-hand with Marshall to bring to life through the color pink.”

Cash App launched its Cash by Cash App apparel line in 2020 in a bid to become a full-fledged lifestyle brand. The initial collection included T-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, sweaters and accessories scarves and hats. In spring 2022, the brand dropped a line of clothing called Future Nature, that was focused on sustainability. Later that year, the brand partnered with designer LaQuan Smith to release a limited-edition clothing capsule

Earlier this week, UBS analyst Rayna Kumar downgraded Cash App’s parent, Block (which also owns payment services Square), based on slowing growth for the app in 2024. “In the second half of 2023 and 2024, Block gross profit growth will likely slow given softening of consumer discretionary spending, a slowdown in Cash App monthly active user growth and moderation of Cash App monetization rates,” Kumar wrote in a note to clients.
