Tyrrell Schmidt is Chief Marketing Officer at TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient BankĀ®. In this role, she oversees brand marketing, corporate and public affairs, and integrated marketing efforts and the bank’s purpose-driven brand efforts. Tyrrell leads a team of dynamic professionals responsible for product, customer, and digital marketing strategy, public relations, customer insights and analytics, social media, and field and retail marketing programs.
Tyrrell joined TD in 2015 and was most recently Global Brand and Customer Experience Officer for TD Bank Group, based in Toronto. In this role, she led the bank’s brand and sponsorship strategies; customer experience vision, framework, and measurement; insights and innovation; and North American creative services. During her tenure, TD Bank Group was consistently ranked #1 in brand consideration and most recently achieved #1 most valuable brand in Canada.
Tyrrell has more than 30 years of experience in marketing and brand building. Prior to joining TD, she held a variety of senior leadership roles at several global companies, including Cigna, Standard Chartered Bank, and Discover Card. She is a seasoned global executive, having lived and worked in U.S., Europe, Asia, and Canada.
She holds an M.S. in Philosophy from the International School of Management, an M.S in Integrated Communications from Northwestern University, and a B.S. in Marketing from Arizona State University.
