Senior Director of Product, OpenX
Roy Firestone brings more than 20 years of experience to OpenX, where he serves as senior director of product and oversees advertising format strategy and development. Prior to joining OpenX, Roy served as vice president of product at Ad.net where he invented a pay-per-swipe influencer commerce program on Instagram, and before Ad.net, he pioneered video within content recommendation widgets at native ad network MGID.
Roy has also served as senior director of product for Engage BDR, director of monetization at video advertising solution provider ZEFR, and vice president of advanced video at digital media platform Xaxis, where he was named an inventor on a patented virtual toy box advertising unit and grew video account revenue by 32 percent. Earlier in his career, Roy held product development and IT roles at several prominent companies including SourceLink, USA Today, and Accenture.
Roy is also passionate about giving back to the community and serving others. He currently sits on the board of directors for Extraordinary Families, a leading nonprofit foster family, adoption and advocacy agency dedicated to improving the daily lives and long-term outcomes of children and youth in foster care. Roy earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a focus on computer information systems, from James Madison University. He co-designed and taught UCLA Extension’s first course in Product Management in 2018.
