As Global Communications Director, Miguel Merino leads the external communication and creative strategy for Corona around the world, building capabilities in business units while strengthening relationships with agency partners and advertising stakeholders. Miguel is an award-winning marketer with vast communications experience spanning Brand Management, Marketing Communications, Consumer Insights, Connections and more.

Miguel is an experienced communications strategist in the world of beer. Throughout his career, Miguel has managed some of the most valuable brands around the globe where he led Cerveza Aguila overseeing product innovations, the turnaround of Cerveza Poker, The Beer of Friendship in Colombia, and oversaw the Classic Lager Portfolio of SABMiller in Peru. Prior to AB InBev, Miguel was at Nestlé in the Andean Business Unit where he built the Communications, Marketing Services and Capabilities team from scratch. In his decades-long career, he has also held positions at BellSouth and The Coca-Cola Company, where he was Head of Sparkling Soft Drinks for the Trans-Andean region (Peru, Bolivia, Uruguay, and Paraguay.)

Over the course of his career, Miguel has elevated the creativity of brands under his responsibility, including a Grand Prix for Coca – Cola and was awarded several Cannes Lions for Pilsen Callao, Cerveza Cristal, Cerveza San Juan, and Cerveza Aguila. He has developed campaigns that have resonated globally in festivals such as Effie, Cannes Lions, D&AD, LIA, Clío, El Sol, Ojo de Iberoamerica, and others. AdLatina, an Ad Age publication, recently recognized Miguel as one of Latin America’s most innovative marketers. Miguel is originally from Peru and currently resides in New York.
