President of Brand Strategy, Klutch Sports Group
Marquise Watts, of Klutch Sports Group, is a marketing executive who arrives at his craft using the tools gained from years of working in sports marketing.
As President of Brand Strategy with Klutch Sports Group, he leads the Marketing and Corporate Partnership department, identifying ways to align brands with athletes through authentic story telling.
Before Klutch Sports, Watts was with Adidas Inc., where his accomplishments included:
- led the Global Basketball Sports marketing department and managed a 100 million budget.
- Overseeing the signing of some of the NBA’s top players while managing partnerships with the league (NBA) and NBA team partnerships.
While with UnderArmour, his achievements included:
- helped to build their Basketball division, growing the company’s footprint through sports marketing initiatives across the grassroots, collegiate and professional levels.
- Contributed to the brand’s increase in value, resulting in the company growing from $600 million to a $4 billion brand.
Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, the former college basketball player is on the board of directors for the Play Equity Fund, an Los Angeles based organization focused on bringing the transformational power of sports and play for all children regardless of zip code. As a former student athlete, he understands the importance of closing the achievement gap between blacks and whites in education, which is why he sits on the site council of his daughter's school.
