Laura Galietta serves as Group Senior Vice President, IntegratedAd Sales Marketing and Consumer Products Licensingfor Discovery, Inc. She is responsible for forging strategic alliances withadvertisers and leading the ad sales marketing staff for Discovery’s suite oficonic, real-life networks. Galietta also oversees the development ofcustomized multi-platform solutions for clients, designed to stimulateincremental revenue, build strong promotional relationships with networkadvertising partners, and create marketing partnerships that leverage sponsors’marketing and media to drive programming, tune-in and brand awareness. Additionally,Galietta oversees the licensing team responsiblefor monetizing Discovery Inc.’s extensive portfolio of network, show, and newtalent IP in ways that are meaningful and profitable to the company.

 

In2006, Galietta joined Scripps Networks Interactive, which became part ofDiscovery, Inc. in 2018. Prior to that she served as Vice President of ConsumerMarketing at National Geographic Channel where she built awareness,distribution and promoted the network to consumers and all business constituents.She also identified channel programming priorities and developed targetedpromotion and media plans to maximize viewership and drive tune-in. 

 

Before National Geographic, she worked at Turner Classic Movies,where she was Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Promotions. In thisrole, she was responsible for developing promotional strategies and brandbuilding partnerships for both the network and online groups to increaseawareness for key programming initiatives. She also held positions as Directorof Interactive Marketing and Director of Affiliate Marketing while at Turner.

 

Galietta has been an active member in Women in CableTelecommunications,a Class XVII graduate of its Betsy Magness LeadershipInstitute and a member of Chief, a private network focused on connecting andsupporting women leaders. She’s been named to CableFAX’s “Most Powerful Women in Cable” list three times(2010-12) and was also named one of AdvertisingAge’s “40 Under 40” in 2006. Galietta has also received several Cable& Telecommunications Association for Marketing and PromaxBDA awards for herwork.

 

She received her bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University andresides in Brooklyn, New York.
