Katelyn Watson - Brand Innovators

Katelyn Watson

Chief Marketing Officer, Talkspace

Katelyn has 20 years of experience in marketing for agencies, large brands, and early stage companies. Her sweet spot is products and services that are building a new market, and typically at a pivotal point of change or growth where taking risks is critical. From reinventing a 50 year old hotel chain brand at La Quinta to making “photo books” a household name at Shutterfly, Katelyn’s focus from the beginning has been performance marketing at scale while balancing brand building along the way. After having tenure at larger brands and public companies Katelyn turned to later stage startups to drive growth. Katelyn led early acquisition marketing for Kabbage which was acquired by American Express and Experiences Marketplace IfOnly which was acquired by Mastercard and rebranded as Priceless Cities. Katelyn led the way for Nurx to be the leader in telemedicine for women’s health through rebranding Nurx in 2019 and driving growth to over 1mm patients. Nurx merged with telehealth platform Thirty Madison in 2022 and Nurx is now part of a family of D2C healthcare brands like Keeps for hair loss and Cove for migraines. Post acquisition Katelyn joined Talkspace, the leader in virtual mental healthcare as CMO and under her leadership Talkspace has become known as the leader in high quality mental healthcare access that you can actually afford as it is covered by insurance. This has led to growing therapy session volume by 90% YOY with a 50% reduced budget. Katelyn graduated with a marketing degree in business from the University of North Texas and participates in Peer 150, CMO Club, Reforge, and Enrich leadership programs to keep learning and building community within marketing leadership.
