Associate Vice President, Marketing, AT&T
John is a longtime Brand Innovators Advisory Board member, and a regular speaker at events around the country. He’s an outspoken advocate of ‘human-to-human’ marketing: putting people first, using technology to improve customer communication and experiences – not to treat them as amorphous segments or personas that are targeted like prey.
As an Associate Vice President in AT&T’s centralized marketing organization, John leads the team responsible for all Business advertising campaigns. And as adjunct faculty in the Cox School of Business at SMU, his people-first philosophy is part of the courses he teaches on branding and social marketing.
John is very much a citizen of the world, having lived and worked across N. America, Western Europe and Asia. Before joining AT&T, John built the global digital organization at Taiwan-based HTC; and he spent nearly a decade with Microsoft, holding senior marketing and product roles in Singapore and Seattle.
Most importantly, John is a father of three who spends his best hours exploring the outdoors and cycling with his family.
