Erik Logan is the Chief Executive Officer for the World Surf League (WSL), the global home of surfing. The WSL is dedicated to changing the world through the inspirational power of surfing by creating authentic events, experiences, and storytelling to inspire a growing, global community to live with purpose, originality, and stoke. 

In this role, Logan oversees the WSL’s four business units: Tours and Live Events, Studios, Digital, and WaveCo. Logan’s decades of international business and media experience continue to transform the WSL into a world-class sports media, live events, and experiences company. Since joining the organization in February 2019, Logan revamped the organization’s live broadcasts, led the development of off-platform content including its first non-scripted TV series, in partnership with ABC, Ultimate Surfer, as well as 24/7: Kelly Slater on HBO. 

Prior to joining the WSL, Logan served as President of the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) and Executive Vice President at Harpo Studios. Logan positioned the company as the #1 cable network in its target demographic with 5 of the top 20 shows in scripted cable programs for women ages 25-54, more than any other cable network. Before OWN, Logan was Executive Vice President, programming and broadcast operations for XM Satellite Radio, where he built the subscriber base to over nine million subscribers, negotiated partnerships, and managed day-to-day relationships with major content providers including Major League Baseball, PGA Tour, CNN, Clear Channel Communications and Fox News. Prior to joining XM, Logan also served as President of Programming for Citadel Broadcasting and served for over a decade at CBS/Infinity Broadcasting in a variety of roles, including Vice President of Programming. 

Logan is based in the WSL’s Santa Monica, California office in the United States. He is an avid waterman and you can catch him in the ocean most mornings in Manhattan Beach.
