SVP Gimbal InStadium, Gimbal
Eric Smith is the SVP of Gimbal InStadium, the newly formed division within Gimbal focused on sports and entertainment born out of Gimbal's acquisition of InStadium in early 2020. In his role, Eric leads the company's efforts to connect brands with fans in the live sports environment and expand the use of Gimbal's location-based solutions by teams and entertainment properties throughout the industry.
During his tenure at InStadium, Eric held several key leadership positions throughout the organization, ultimately culminating with his role as President/COO before joining Gimbal. Prior to joining InStadium, Eric spent more than 15 years on the team and rights holder side of the sports business, highlighted by sales leadership roles at Host Communications, D.C. United and the Chicago Fire, and has extensive experience developing successful, results-driven, award-winning campaigns with brands like Best Buy, Garmin, NBCUniversal, Paramount and Toyota.
Eric is a proud graduate of the University of Virginia with a B.S. in Commerce (Finance/Marketing) and lives in suburban Chicago with his wife and three sons.
