Spending much of her career working with restaurant and food retail brands, Emily Hartmann is a strategic marketer who brings brand and agency-side experience to the table. As a consumer minded marketer, Emily has a proven track record of leveraging data and insights that drive business growth and build brand equity.

Currently, Emily is Director of Brand Building at The Kroger Co, overseeing the vision, strategy and expression of the Kroger brand and its family of banner brands. Most recently, Emily helped re-shape the brand strategy for Kroger’s house of brands, bringing a commitment to fresher, affordable food through the “Fresh for Everyone” campaign. As part of the rebrand, Emily led efforts to hire the first creative agency of record for the 137-year-old Kroger brand.

Before joining The Kroger Co., Emily led brand marketing and advertising for Taco Bueno Restaurants. In her role she developed and launched breakthrough products and modernized the chain’s advertising efforts through a new brand campaign, digital partnerships and social innovations. Prior to working brand-side, she served as a strategic account leader for clients like Pizza Hut at Omincom’s TracyLocke.

Emily is proud to serve on the board of directors for the Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation with a mission to improve food security and end food waste. Originally from Dallas, Emily holds a BA in History from the University of Oklahoma and is currently seeking Sooner fans in Cincinnati, where she lives with her family.
