Doug Thielen is the Director of Marketing at Filson, the 121 year old Seattle based outdoor apparel manufacturer and retailer. In his role at Filson, Doug has the pleasure of leading the incredible teams across Public Relations, Events and Experiences, Paid Media, Local Marketing, Social Media and Content Marketing. Filson’s deep roots in the Pacific Northwest as one of the original outfitters for the Alaska Gold Rush, gives Filson a wealth of heritage, experience and product ingenuity to pull from in their marketing and storytelling efforts. Since joining Filson, Doug has lead partnerships with the National Forest Foundation, Backcountry Hunters and Anglers and number of local non-profits.

Prior to joining Filson, Doug was with REI leading their media and branded content strategy, as well as their local and experience marketing teams. When he’s not working in the outdoor industry you can find him recreating in it – from racing Ironman triathlons to spending time at Washington’s Crystal Mountain teaching his daughters to ski – Doug ismost at home when he’s outside.
