Global Growth Operations Officer, Unilever

Debora Koyama is the Global Growth Operations Officer for Unilever since January 2020, based in London. In this newly created role, she is responsible for unlocking growth opportunities globally by translating Unilever’s strategies into the different geographies, maximizing innovation platforms, and leading as well as introducing initiatives and platforms to ignite and accelerate growth at scale.

Prior to that, Debora was Mondelez International’s Chief Marketing Officer for Europe – #1 region for the snacking company globally – based in Switzerland. In that role, she was responsible for the Marketing function including disciplines as Consumer Insights & Analytics, Brand Excellence, Innovation, Design and Media & Digital Transformation. Her mission was to accelerate business growth while driving change by inspiring and enabling a community of +500 marketers across Europe to unleash purpose-led growth across a portfolio of iconic brands like Cadbury, Milka and Oreo in the digital age.

Debora has a +25-year international career in business and marketing gained at global consumer-goods companies as ABInBev, L’Oreal, Kraft and Diageo. She has led teams in the US, Europe, Brazil, Latin America and globally. She is a change driver, champion of purpose-led growth, social impact and sustainability for more than a decade. She launched the first global social impact campaign for ABInBev’s Stella Artois “Buy a Lady a Drink” partnering with Matt Damon’s non-profit in 2015; and the circular economy new-to-the-world platform Loop for Mondelez leading brand Milka in Europe at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2019. 

Debora was nominated one of the Top 50 Executives in the 2020 Adweek50 list; named as “Woman to Watch” in 2019 by Ad Age publication, and Top 100 Women in Brand Marketing in 2018 by Brand Innovators. She holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management in the US, and has lived in 3 continents.
