Carl is the CEO of Quigley-Simpson, an independent women-owned certified agency with Fortune 500 clients as well as emerging companies.  Quigley-Simpson’s Brand and Demand proposition and approach helps brands balance the imperatives of creating consumer-brand affinity and driving revenue through performance marketing. Carl has a vast career spanning almost 40 years in Marketing.  Highlights of Carl’s career that have been hallmarks for his partnership with brands include: 

  • Creation of a business alliance between two WPP powerhouses; Wavemaker (Media) and Wunderman (Digital, Data, CRM).  The Alliance was developed for brands to achieve an orchestrated and integrated consumer-centric approach to communications,  centered around the consumer journey; from creating brand desire, demand and long-term profitable consumer relationships. Some of the brands benefit from this Alliance include Marriott, United, IKEA and L’Oreal. 
  • Global Chief Digital Officer – MEC.  Co-creation with clients on the transformation to more digitally-centric marketing strategies that accelerated the expansion to a more dynamic and responsive brand-consumer relationship for Marriott, Hertz, AT&T, Vodaphone.  
  • Carl is a passionate leader and visionary in the industry and is a frequent speaker and consultant on the transformations occurring in digital and technology; often quoted in the press for his views on the future of marketing and media.
  • Carl has extensive marketing and media experience in a multitude of brand categories including automotive, car rental, financial services, consumer package goods, retail, technology, eCommerce, pharmaceutical, telecommunications and travel.  

Carl serves on the advisory boards of a select number technology, media and venture capital companies as well as consults with the IAB on the Video Board.  Carl has also served as the Chairperson of the Ad Club, the oldest industry organization. He has also served as its lead for the I’m Part Media Action, which since its inception has raised over $10MM (US) for scholarships and training for diversity talent in the Marketing and Communications fields. Carl is also on the board of Breastcancer.org, a non-profit organization that raises awareness of breast health issues.
