From Taco Bell and Crypto.com to Planet Fitness and Caesar's Sportsbook, brands held nothing back for 2022's record-breaking Super Bowl - the most viewed (and the most betted) game since 2015.
Last night’s Super Bowl was projected to reach a record-breaking audience and boasted billions of dollars in betting revenue. Super Bowl LVI planned to attract 184.5 million viewers who collectively budgeted to spend $14.6 billion on game accessories, with the most popular category being food & beverages, according to data from the NRF and Prosper Insights & Analytics. However, as a newcomer to many states, The American Gaming Associations wagered that sports betting will have fans gambling a record $7.61 billion (est.) on this year’s big game, up nearly 80% from last year.
Advertisers brought their A-game last night, showcasing everything from beer and NFTs to streaming platforms and business software. The famous Budweiser Clydesdales returned after a one-year hiatus, marking their first break from Super Bowl advertising in 37 years. Meanwhile, Bud Light NEXT made its NFL Primetime debut, taking viewers to Guy Fieri’s Flavortown. In the first-ever Super Bowl Bitcoin giveaway, CRYPTO.com engaged audiences with an interactive ad, having participants retweet @FTX_OFFICIAL for a chance to win the hottest decentralized currency.
