Pepsi Drops Zero Sugar with New Spots at NFL Playoffs & Super Bowl

Pepsi has dropped a “new and improved” Pepsi Zero Sugar, a new recipe that aims to amplify the flavor of the non-sugar drink.

To promote the new and improved product, the brand will be running  a national television campaign with new spots airing throughout the NFL Playoffs in both English and Spanish, which will culminate with a new spot at the Super Bowl. This marks the brand’s first ad at the big game in three years. This is also the first year that Pepsi will not be sponsoring the Halftime Show in a decade. The new spots will focus on the improved flavor of the non-sugar drink.

“At Pepsi, we put our consumers at the forefront of everything we do,” stated Todd Kaplan, chief marketing officer at brand Pepsi. “Our R&D team leveraged the best new beverage technology to upgrade our Pepsi Zero Sugar product to give fans the best tasting cola in the zero-sugar category. The product is truly a breakthrough as it is the best zero sugar cola we’ve ever had – period. We’re so confident in its taste, that we are making up to 10 million free Pepsi Zero Sugars available to consumers so that people can try it for themselves.”

Pepsi is also running the Pepsi Zero Sugar Giveaway, a promotion in which the brand will give out 10 million free samples of the new product. To receive the free product, consumers can text “FREE PEPSI” throughout the Playoffs and “FREE ZERO” during the Super Bowl to 81234.
