Megan Trainor Stars in Nexxus’ New Unbreakable Campaign with Unique Ukulele

Who needs nylon for their ukuleles when you can just pull strings from your own head? Hair products company Nexxus has commissioned the creation of a functional ukulele, which had strings made of human hair.

The uke, created by artist Tadas Maksimovas and luthier Tomas Delgado will be featured in campaign assets for the brand’s Unbreakable Care Collection, in content also featuring pop star Meghan Trainor.

Trainor showcased the instrument at a private event and performance in NYC earlier this week, and will be featured in other content. The hair in the instrument’s strings were all treated with Nexxus’s new Unbreakable Care products, which are designed to strengthen the follicles of women with fine or thinning hair.

To showcase the product’s effectiveness, Trainor used the ukulele at a special launch performance at the Public Hotel in New York City earlier this week. A mom with a second baby on the way, Trainor has been open about how pregnancy has changed her body, including thinning hair.

“I’ve struggled with fine hair my whole life, and have experienced hair breakage for 10 years now with my career as a popstar, and especially during my pregnancies, which all comes with a real emotional toll,” Trainor said. “I’m excited to be partnering with Nexxus for their Unbreakable Care launch to help women like me with fine and thin hair feel confident with stronger, fuller, thicker-looking hair that has less breakage.”

The new product line addresses an often-unspoken issue faced by women with fine hair. According to the company, half of all U.S. women have either fine or thin hair and two-thirds of them have taken no action to strengthen their air. The new products are designed to address the issue with a “Product Fusion Blend” that includes keratin, collagen, and biotin.
