Mary Kay Celebrates 60 Years with Stories

Iconic beauty brand Mary Kay, the one that has become synonymous with the color pink, will mark its 60th anniversary this summer with an extensive campaign that highlights the unique stories of the company’s salespeople, also known as “independent beauty consultants.”

“There’s so much excitement surrounding Mary Kay’s 60th anniversary. It’s a remarkable business achievement and speaks to the strength of our brand, ” said Nathan Moore, president of global sales and marketing at Mary Kay, in a release. “But at its core, this truly is a celebration of our independent beauty consultants. Without their passion, entrepreneurship, and giving spirit, we wouldn’t have made it six months—much less 60 years!”

The brand is kicking off the campaign early by sharing the story of its founder, Mary Kay Ash, through a 40-minute podcast. “Then. Now. Always. The Mary Kay Ash Story,” which will feature never-before-shared stories, interviews and business insights, will be available on Spotify and other podcast platforms beginning this week.

In addition, Mary Kay has created several videos featuring Mary Kay entrepreneurs that can be viewed on the brand’s social channels and on the brand’s website. The series features testimonials from distinguished sales representatives from the United States, China, Malaysia, Argentina and the Czech Republic. The company will also be running a 60th anniversary-themed video in Times Square in New York City over the next several weeks.

Additional videos will be released throughout the year, and the company is encouraging its beauty consultants from around the world to share their own Mary Kay stories on social media using the hashtag #MaryKay60.
