Budweiser Teases NFT Drop & Custom Can Campaign

Non-alcoholic brew Budweiser Zero is gearing up for an NFT drop featuring artwork centered on co-founder Dwyane Wade.

On May 24, Budweiser Zero will be dropping the full called Budverse Legends: Dwyane Wade x Budweiser Zero Edition – available to consumers 21+.

“NFTs provide us with the opportunity to engage with our fans in an entirely new way – giving them the ability to collect and own a digital piece of our brand, as well as gain exclusive access to the experiences we offer,” said Kristina Punwani, head of marketing at Budweiser. “We have long been a major contributor in sports and entertainment and we see NFTs as a space where consumers are going to be entertained, can socialize, and purchase digital collectibles in the future.”

“As we look to expand the Budverse, which we introduced in November 2021, launching Budverse Legends: Dwyane Wade x Budweiser Zero Edition with long time brand partner and Budweiser Zero co-founder, Dwyane Wade was an exciting opportunity to bring Budweiser Zero into the fold and reach both fans of the brand and Dwyane Wade,” she continued.

Consumers will have access to three variations of NFTs. Each NFT will be priced at $180 and after 48-hours, on May 26 at 2pm ET, Budweiser will reveal which edition NFT each consumer received across three tiers: Core NFT, Hero NFT and Legendary NFT.  The owner of the on Legendary NFT will also get a real life in-person experience with Wade.

“Dwyane Wade co-founded Budweiser Zero with us in 2020, so we knew that for Budweiser Zero’s entry into the Budverse, we had to collaborate with him again on a campaign and visuals that Bud fans would be excited about,” explained Punwani.

The brand hopes that by creating NFTs, along with limited edition merchandise, they can stay relevant in the current cultural landscape and reach new audiences.

“Continuing to grow the brand with Dwyane Wade through campaigns like this one allows us to introduce our non-alcoholic brew to more people,” explained Punwani. “Additionally, Budweiser and Dwyane Wade are both committed to leveraging our unique capabilities, relationships and reach to make a positive impact in the community. As a result, we have teamed up to make a donation to create a grant program for minority-owned businesses in underserved communities across the US.”
